Charts
Chart catalogue
Every chart Luc UI can draw, with an honest status. Public means a typed component exists in @luc/ui/charts today; engine means the renderer supports it but Luc UI has not wrapped it; planned and blocked are not shipped, and the reason is stated. No aliases and no cosmetic variants are counted as distinct types.
Every public row is drawn by the component it names, from that chart's own page fixture.
How to read this
Four statuses, and the counts below are the current truth rather than a target.
79
A public component with types, tests and a Showcase example.
Distinct plot types: 76 · components: 78
0
The engine can draw it; LUC has not wrapped it yet.
1
Agreed as valuable, not started. The note says what blocks it.
1
Needs a dependency or data LUC deliberately does not ship.
General
The shapes every product needs, on the declarative ChartSpec path.
Statistical
Distributions, agreement and uncertainty — all from prepared values.
Scientific & mathematical
Fields, geometry and spectra for scientific readers.
3D surface
Public#Surface3DChartplot type · canvas-projection
orthographic projection + painter's algorithm — no WebGL, no echarts-gl
Diagnostics, ML & risk
The figures that answer “is this sane?” — all from values the caller computed.
Financial & quantitative
Presentation only: not one metric here is computed by the library.
Candlestick / OHLC
Public#CandlestickChart · FinancialChartplot type · lightweight-charts
two renderers of one plot — CandlestickChart on ECharts, FinancialChart on Lightweight Charts
Volatility surface
Public#VolatilitySurfaceChartplot type · canvas-projection
a gridded surface; interpolating quotes into a grid stays the caller's job
Multidimensional, network & hierarchy
When the relationship, not the value, is the finding.
Parallel sets / alluvial
Planned#—plot type · echarts
categorical flows across dimensions; Sankey covers the explicit-link case today
Workflow & operations
Sequence, schedule, comparison and attribution.
Segmented bars
Public#ComposedChartvariant of another plot · echarts
a reading of ComposedChart, not a second plot
Time series & sequence
Regimes, events and calendars over a shared inspection cursor.
Rolling measure
Public#LineChartvariant of another plot · echarts
a supplied window over a supplied series — the same plot, read over time
Geographic
Maps are the caller's: LUC ships no boundary data and no political set.
Spatial density
Public#HexbinChart + GeoScatterChartcomposition of two plots · echarts
a composition of two public components, not a third plot
3D globe / extruded map
Blocked#—plot type · echarts
echarts-gl only — the boundary this library declines to cross
Variants, not types
Deliberately excluded from the count above: these reuse a renderer with different semantics, and counting them as separate plot types would inflate the catalogue without adding a capability.
Adjacency matrix
VariantCorrelationMatrixa generic matrix of counts, directed or not, with degree totals
Alluvial
VariantSankeyChartcategorical stages instead of explicit links
Volatility surface (2D)
VariantHeatmapCharta projection, and it must be labelled as one
Density ridgelines
VariantRidgelineChartcomplementary / mirrored mode
Rolling risk panel
VariantLineCharta ratio axis plus supplied windows
Two rules that never bend
They are what separates this catalogue from a gallery of pictures.
First: the library renders, it does not estimate. No chart in this list bins, smooths, fits, differences or optimises — every value arrives prepared, and a transform that is unavoidable (a log axis, a streamgraph's own layout) is a display mapping that is named in the contract. Second: no alias is a type. Two components count as two chart types only when a reader would use them for different questions.
