Charts

Workflow charts

The shapes an operations product reaches for: which task ran when, how two periods compare, what moved and by how much. None of them infers a state — every one shows a supplied number at a supplied position.

Schedule

One row per task on a real time axis, drawn top-to-bottom in the order given. Progress is an inner bar rather than a second series, which is what keeps a two-hundred-task plan legible.

Gantt

Five stages of the daily pipeline, with the current task partially complete.

Compare

A dumbbell measures a quantity at two moments; a slope chart measures a rank or an index, so its lines are free to cross and the crossing is the message.

Dumbbell

Start and end per metric, with the change drawn as the connector.

Slope

Weight change between two reviews. The value axis is shared, so a crossing is genuine.

Bullet

A measured value, a target and the qualitative bands between them.

Lollipop

A bar reduced to a stem and a head, for a long ranked list.

Rank and weight

A bump chart inverts its axis so rank 1 is at the top, and a null is a genuine gap that breaks the line rather than an interpolated position. A Mekko makes the column width the group size, which is the honest version of a stacked bar.

Bump

Six quarters of factor ranks. Size is missing in Q4 and the line breaks instead of guessing.

Mekko

Channel mix where the width is the channel's size, so a small share inside a big column is visibly not the same fact as a small share inside a tiny one.
